This is a weekend filled with a sense of anticipation, excitement, a sense of culmination with a bit of sadness mixed in. This weeklong festival is drawing to its inevitable close.

The Man has been turned nearly every hour, thanks to the efforts of the Burner community, who came when called and pushed together to make the Man above Turn. He turns for the last time today. The Lamplighters will bring the fire to the Man with a procession from their now burnt-down Village, followed by a Fire Dance. Then the Man will Burn.

The Temple will also Burn, but tomorrow. These dwindling hours of the festival until tomorrow morning are your last chance to visit the Temple, to reflect, ponder and reconnect to your innermost self and your fellow beings in this incredible world we have. The tradition of leaving messages in the censer continues, in the form of a sheet of paper under a lamp next to a da Vinci-esque printing press. Simply touch the paper and follow the instructions to leave your message. Just before the Temple Burns, the messages will be read out for the community – always a deeply moving shared experience. Then the Temple BURNS, taking the messages with it. After the final Burn in the evening, in keeping with the RL Temple custom, the messages are not saved; they are gone with the virtual Temple. Prior to this, the Lamplighters will bring the fire to the Temple in procession and perform a Fire Dance.
