WB2025 Call for Posters

EVENT: BURN2 WINTER BURN - JANUARY 24-26, 2025

With the holidays upon us and the new year just around the corner, we look to Winter Burn, set to take place January 24-26, 2025.

Now we have the theme for this event: Aurora Mystica: Lights of Connection. We are now seeking poster ideas from you, our community. Someone had a brilliant vision of what this event could look like.

The theme's overall vision is described thus:

Concept:
Inspired by the Northern Lights, this theme celebrates unity, connection, and the magic of shared experiences. Like the auroras, individual contributions blend to create a magnificent whole. The focus is on how individual creativity and energy come together to form a collective, beautiful phenomenon.

Visual Style:
Dynamic auroras created using particle effects that light up the sky in vibrant colors.

  • Ground-level holographic art installations and glowing pathways that guide participants to community-built spaces.
  • Light-emitting sculptures and interactive art pieces that respond to touch or movement, symbolizing the ripple effect of connection.

Activities:

  • Light-Painting Workshops: Guests use interactive tools to “paint” temporary light trails in shared spaces, contributing to a collaborative art piece.
  • Group Meditations Under Auroras: Participants gather in open areas to relax and connect beneath shimmering light displays.
  • Musical Performances Synced with Light Shows: Live music synced to dynamic light effects, creating a multisensory experience of sound and visuals.

The form is simple - we only need your name and up to 3 poster submissions. Guidelines for the posters are below.

Poster Guidelines

  1. Your design should be related to the theme
  2. You can submit up to THREE (3) posters. Total max per file 8MB.
  3. Texture dimensions can be 512 x 512, 512 x 1024, or 1024 x 512
  4. The Burn2 logo* and event dates (January 24-26, 2025) should be on the texture.
  5. Filename should start with “WB2025” followed by whatever you name it.
  6. Graphics should be original work, or using creative commons non-commercial, or public domain images.
  7. Last Date to Submit Posters: SATURDAY 4TH JANUARY at 11PM SLT/US Pacific Time (23:00).

By submitting, you grant us permission to use your poster graphics in world and on our website, and we will acknowledge you as the creator of the artwork when we display it.

*You can get a copy of the Burn2 logo inside the Burn2 HQ building in Deep Hole.

If your poster is selected, we may ask for layered PSD files or we may ask you to create different dimensions of your poster for use in various networks.
