Remember those vehicles scattered around the playa, where you could click and rez a vehicle to ride around the playa? They were made by people like you who volunteered their time and creativity to contribute to the wild, wonderful and bizarrely weird world of BURN2.
You, too, can contribute! What, you don't know how to build? Aw, we have a solution for that. Come to an art car building class. We'll take you at whatever skill level you have, give you the basics, a kit, and help you realise your vision of the perfect Art Car.
P1an0man will show you the ropes and before long you will be creating and contributing to our fabulous Art Car collection. Watch for the inworld group notices or contact Larree Quixote inworld for more details.
Art Car Building Class Wednesday 4 March 2015, 9:00pm SLT Walk-in Sandbox, Deep Hole, Second Life
If you missed the Burning of the Man during our BURN2 Caravansary event in October, you have two more opportunities to see it - this time in a low lag, music-filled setting with fellow Skin Burners - on Saturday, November 8, 2014, at 12 PM SLT and 8 PM SLT.
No one is a bystander; everyone is included in the spectacle. You will be invited to dance, interact, and BE a part of the experience.
The playa will be closed to the public. Attendees will be asked to demonstrate compliance with the following lag reduction criteria during the pre-Burn check-in process:
Remove all HUDs, attached items, AOs. The built-in animation overriders in viewers like Firestorm are permitted.
Remove scripted objects and worn items such as mesh eyes or hair or clothing.
Reduce Avatar Render Weight to 1000 or less (or, in some viewers, Avatar Rendering Cost to 1). Wear a creative, colourful skin or system clothing.
The goal is to be as low-lag as possible for oneself and for others in attendance, by wearing only skins and perhaps system clothing. By doing this we can have the best possible experience of the Burn. Be radical and creative! Free skins will be available, contributed by many artists and fellow Burners.
After passing the check-in process, avatars will be invited into the BURN2 SKIN BURN group and teleported to the Burn site on the playa to join fellow Burners in the event.
The BURN2 Check-in area will be open and closed at the following times on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
For the 12:00 PM SLT Burn, open 9:00 AM SLT, close 11:30 AM SLT. For the 8:00 PM SLT Burn, open 5:00 PM SLT, close 7:30 PM SLT.
Watch this space on Saturday, November 8th to get the location of the BURN2 SKIN BURN check-in area.
